Triumph, Ceramic, 2024

My ceramic work digs into the complexities of neurodivergence, specifically Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The Media often portrays it as disruptive and embodied by a singular stereotype. I challenge this narrative by presenting a multifaceted experience, informed by my own journey with ADHD.

This series explores the feeling of being overwhelmed by daily life, the paralyzing fear of failure, the isolating recovery period, and the eventual triumph of overcoming challenges. The process of working with clay acts as a meditative counterpoint to the mental chaos. The repetitive, tactile experience allows me to work through internal struggles. Shaping the formless clay into a tangible representation becomes a form of control. The opaque surface is imbued with vulnerability through a delicate pink glaze, symbolizing the internal struggles hidden beneath.
